It was Zoo Member day at the zoo. We thought it would be fun to go this night. We discovered that thousands of other people also thought the same thing!! We had to park in the boonies but they had a school bus to transport us to the entrance so it worked out great. The twins were especially thrilled to finally get to ride on a school bus! We also got free carousel rides - sweet.
This walrus guy is so funny - he's huge and will swim right up to the glass and visit us. And how adorable is this little baby hedgehog?
I borrowed an idea from my big sister to award the kids tickets for good behavior, for doing extra chores and for general awesomeness with the right to take away tickets for misbehavior. It's working like a charm (with the occasional ups and downs as we get used to the deal). They had their first "ticket store" with the chance to spend their tickets for goods. Matt threw in a bonus idea that if they save up 50 tickets over the summer he'll take them out for a daddy/daughter father/son outing.
We got to go on another Washington adventure one weekend. We headed to the beach right by the ocean! All us girls got our hair double braided and we were off. My sister-in-law has been searching for her name on a coke bottle for a long time - she did just find one but we also found one! We had to snap the picture and send it to her. Good times.
When we got to the beach, we discovered it was very windy down there so we stayed by the van to eat our lunch then headed out to play and explore. The kids loved finding lots of sand dollars and cool rocks - I even found a chunk of petrified wood that was polished into a rock shape - cool. We also found a glob of dead jellyfish and plenty of crab parts. Cool.
The kids were told they could wade (we didn't wear swimsuits - brrr) but they were having so much fun playing in the little waves that they all ended up soaking wet!
On to the everyday...We have a big chunk of memory foam on top of our bed that's quite heavy. It was off the bed and these two tough little boys actually wrestled it on the bed and "made" the bed for me. My favorite is the sheets hanging off the side. Love these little turkeys!
Another weekend adventure...we went to a park that is near where Matt grew up in Tacoma and the kids loved playing in the splash pad.
Matt was laughing his head off one night as he found these funny pictures Alissa had taken of herself on the ipad. He put them on the background screens and it entertained everyone the next day!
My awesome nephew Tylan returned from his mission to Ohio! His family had moved up here to Washington while he was on his mission (just like Matt's family moved to Idaho from Washington while he was on his mission) so he came home to a new land and lots of strangers! Here is his beautiful family.
Sisters! Taletha, LaDawn and Marina. We were so happy to get to spend a day together for Tylan's homecoming. We took the classic selfie shot then laughed and laughed as we tried to figure out the new selfie stick LaDawn had!
June is my birthday month! I've reached the great age of 35 this year. What an amazing 35 years it has been and I'm excited to see what the rest of my life brings.
Alissa is officially out of Elementary School. She gets to start Middle School this Fall. Matt continues to invent awesome things...his latest is this great scooter storage solution (the bird feeder holder in the background is also a new invention of his here!)
Trevor's new and improved way to go fishing...
and we love writing letters to loved ones living far away now. I discovered fun super hero minion images on google. :)
The kids were throwing around paper airplanes and Jacie's did a perfect landing on my HEAD!
Carly and I figured out how to make our own Rapunzel Hair - sweet.
