To start the month of MAY - the twins turned FIVE!! Can hardly believe it. They seem to grow a foot every month and are more than ready to start Kindergarten and get rid of naps!
Alissa finished Soccer and joined the Track and Field team at her Middle School. She loved it! She's the one in blue. She ran relays, threw the javelin, and did the 100 and 50 meter sprints. Fun Fun!
Mother's Day brought lots of love and cute cards and gifts from the 5 sweet kids that I'm so blessed to call my own. Motherhood is one amazing journey.
Our ward put on a fun Mother's Day Celebration - each auxiliary had a part in the program - Primary kids sang a song, missionaries and the bishop dressed up and did a skit (that's our Bishop singing in the first picture!), Matt read the classic book Love You Forever to represent the Elder's Quorum, the Young Men sang a hymn and the Young Women worked hard to learn a real hula dance - awesome!
The above mentioned Bishop is leaving our ward :( He's moving to Colorado to be near his son so we've since welcomed in a new Bishop. I had all the Primary kids sign this super awesome card I made to wish him well. He loves to chew gum so we just had to include that as well! He just about cried when we presented it to him! :) He said it's something he'll treasure his entire life.
Washington's May brings gorgeous rhododendron bushes everywhere and our complex has a lot - so pretty!
Our big 5 year olds learned how to ride a bike! Alissa took over their training and had them trained within a couple hours - wow! It helps to learn on this teeny bike where their feet can reach the ground - we didn't even have to mess with training wheels for them. Sweet.
Memorial Weekend ended our month with a fun hike to see some famous waterfalls around here. This is Snoqualmie Falls - gorgeous. There was some serious hiking to get down to the water and back up and just shy of 5 bazillion people were there that day as well (seemed like it anyway!) but we really enjoyed it. Plus we got to see an awesome green beetle and were warned that Big Foot might be in the area - yikes!
This is their favorite thing to do as we wait for Alissa to get out of school...
Gorgeous sunset - I really love how all the trees here result in stunning silhouettes every night.
I'm still doing double duty in our ward as Primary President and Activity Days Leader - we're taking the summer off from Activity Days so I'm trucking through for one more month but this is the Faith In God Award we present to the girls after all their hard work for 4 years - love it.
The kids had a random day off from school (it's an extra snow day but the one small skiff of snow they got here this winter didn't require the day off of school) so we had some fun at a big park. We walked to a lake and had a picnic then explored in the tall grass looking for the funny Spit Bugs here - they are little green bugs that blow spit bubbles to hide in. Funny.
We had our Boy Scout Fundraiser in our ward that included a dessert auction so I made some super awesome desserts for it!
