We had a VERY fun May. It started with our TWINS TURNING SIX!! Trevor and Jacie are finishing Kindergarten and growing like weeds. They are starting to read and are so much fun. We are so glad they get to be in our family. We had fun making these fun birthday cakes...
Then a few days after their birthday we had another big event - CAMERON GOT BAPTIZED!! We are so stinkin' proud of our little man and his decision to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He's a sweet kid and works hard to choose the right.
We were happy to have Grandma and Grandpa Hansen, Aunt Kaeli and soon-to-be-Uncle Barry fly up here to share this special day with us!
We all had fun at the Zoo after the baptism...
And no zoo trip is complete without a stop by the ocean to find crabs! I still can't handle holding the little guys - WAY too much like holding a giant spider - ugh. Kaeli handled it much better!
Grandpa Hansen had to fly home that weekend but the other 3 visitors were able to stay for a few more days so we went out and had more fun! We took them to Westhaven to the beach - pretty cold still but we managed to have a lot of fun - our neighbor friends joined us in the fun too.
The next day, the kids had to go back to school and Matt had to go back to work so I got to play with our visitors in downtown Seattle all day. We went to Pike's Place and explored the water front and Barry treated us to a very unique lunch experience!
We just happened to find the famous GUM WALL near the market. SO much chewed up gum!! What a weird thing to do - but still kinda cool!
We found where people get their gum for the gum wall...I tried to do the pose from Mulan :)
After the fun of having visitors ended, we had the big job of getting 200 mother's day gifts ready for our ward. I found a cute "Mom's are the Sweetest" idea on Pinterest and we got to work - that's a LOT of M&Ms! They were a big hit. We also got to make the Father's Day gifts so we enlisted the help of the Activity Day Girls and the Young Women on that one - good times.
May also brings MOTHER'S DAY! Matt made a yummy breakfast in bed for me and all 3 of the youngest kids wanted the same treatment so they all ended up on my bed eating breakfast with me! I love being a mommy. :)
The twins get worn out after a long day at school - they both fell asleep on the living room floor - I found this and had to take a picture! HaHa!
Cameron had a Cub Scout activity at a rose garden right by the zoo one Saturday so we just continued up the road when it was over and visited the zoo again - gotta make our membership worth it!
It turned into quite an exciting trip...we got to hear all about elephants (and how one of the ones there is a big bully because she was caught in the wild and treated very poorly by circus trainers). We also got to see this unique animal - a Tapir. There were 2 monkeys swinging all around him too.
The aquariums at this zoo are amazing - the fish kept eyeballing us through the glass!
And to end our fun month of May - here's our little Cub Scout with his first belt loop he's earned.
The kids go halfway into June before school is out for them - we're all excited for some summer fun!
