August had a few more adventures then we geared up to go back to school.
We have a great group of youth in this area - what a blessing.
They got together at our house for some games and fun night games one night.
Alissa and a couple friends had an over-the-summer homework assignment. They had to take pictures by all sorts of things in the city of Kent.
In our travels for that assignment, we found a great community ballpark and went back to watch a couple games - Matt loved teaching the kids all about baseball. It looks like he's holding that pole!
The kids made a really great fort.
And lots of wonderfully happy events happened on my side of the family...my niece Lillie had her first baby - darling little Daisie May.
My niece Kesiah got married!
And my nephew Derek got married!
Jacie caught a baking bug and has been having a great time learning how to bake by herself!
And we're having our Primary Program early this year so I made some cute little gifts for the kids.
Matt randomly planted a couple corn seeds by our front steps and they grew great - 2 little froggies love to sit in the shade on them - can you find both frogs?
Matt taught the boys how to use magnifying glasses and the sun to burn wood...not ants. ;)
And Matt's cousin had her first baby! A little girl they named Indie Anna Jones...for real!
And my niece Kaylee returned from her wonderful mission to Fiji!
Alissa went to take her written driver's test which happened to be right by a really great pet store. They just got a new chameleon there - SO awesome. Look at his crazy cool feet!
We planted some sunflowers this year - SO tall.
Jacie had a fun Activity Days event - she loved the popcorn bar and we had a great time racing ducks in the Cub Scout Raingutter Regatta thingy.
I've been going for some morning walks and see plenty of these slimy little slugs and snails.
We helped Matt's aunt move one weekend and she let the kids have her stash of modeling clay. We've been having some fun adventures with it. Check out this adorable thing I made!
Jacie tried her hand at brownies - very good. And Alissa actually cleaned her room!
We enjoyed a cookout in our backyard one Friday night. These guys are watching a show and can you see where Cameron and Trevor are?
I went on a long bike ride adventure with all the kids except Alissa - very fun
We picked blackberries!
The Primary room had a great backdrop set up so I got a quick shot of my darling little kiddos.
Trevor can do some tricky tricks on our porch swing and Alissa and I are winning at twinning!
This was a funny Sunday night activity the 3 little kids came up with - zhuzhu pet racing
For the last couple nights of summer freedom - the kids set up our family tent on the deck and had some fun campouts.
Then it was BACK TO SCHOOL. I sent them off with some happy pancakes for breakfast. And so sad - Carly had stinkin' homework on the first day. :(
Here they all are - they are growing up too fast.
Our traditional pencil brownie was our biggest one yet!
After 2 days of school - we got a 3 day Labor Day weekend! We went adventuring to Zion's Camp again - I'd like to make this a tradition . So fun. Our picnic lunch got spiced up when a bunch of wasps joined us. They sent Jacie screaming to the van and she wouldn't come out until we were done. One landed right on Carly - that's her brave face. Inside... she's screaming.
Fun time on the lake - Alissa opted to stay dry and read a book this year...my kind of girl!

We got another fun surprise on the way home when Matt drove us to a FERRY! They are so fun.
And to end our month - here's a shot of what we make our Primary kids wear when it's their birthday while we sing a silly song to them. This week we had 3 teachers with birthdays - so funny! And can you see why we needed to have our Primary Program early this year? Our chorister is about to pop!
These are my latest modeling clay creations - I'm getting pretty good!
That's the end of our August and the end of our summer. It's been a great one.
