April's Adventures

APRIL was a very busy and very fun month for us...

We LOVE April Fool's Day around here.  Matt has always loved a good trick and so do the kids! 

 Some of the tricks pulled around here were:  Matt wrote on the girls' legs and arms while they were sleeping - he put a balloon in the top of the milk so we couldn't pour it and he switched the cereals in their boxes!  Trevor was very concerned about the milk trick and became even more concerned when I poured him the wrong kind of cereal - haha!  Both tricks I pulled worked like charms - I cut the letter E out of brown papers and emptied our snack drawer and put the Es inside - yes, Brown Es...have you figured it out yet?  It took awhile but eventually everyone caught on to my brownie joke - nice.  I also put salt on Matt's toothbrush - he loved that one.  Carly got into the spirit of things and attacked Alissa before she woke up - she swapped out their school clothes, emptied Alissa's purse and filled it full of socks.  Funny girl.  And our final trick of the day was to put a bit of toothpaste in the center of the cream in some Oreos for Matt to share with the young men and young women at mutual that night - worked like a charm!  Good times, good times.

After Matt and I got back from a quick trip to Vegas for a business function (we got to meet a personal hero of ours and my sister Taletha took great care of our kids for us), we reloaded the bags and headed to Idaho to spend our Spring Break and Easter with our Judy Family.  SO much fun.
Cameron's birthday just happened to hit during the vacation so we celebrated by going to the zoo!

 Here's our adorable 5 year old - love this kid to pieces.

 More family fun found us in the hills at the fish pond for a family birthday celebration.  We enjoyed a delicious breakfast served from inside one of those big grain silos in the background - that was fun.  These first two pictures are of the group that wore jeans and leather then the turquoise crowd...

 Uncle Bryce shot candy into the sagebrush using his cool potato gun - he had hidden lots of eggs earlier so we all had fun scouring the weeds for treasures...and only one tick was found - ick.

 I love this next picture - tiny little Jacie in the doorway of a giant old barn - the barn is just about 100 years old as well as my Dad can reckon.  Wow.

 We took a little walk up the hillside to see this very old cemetery.

 My dad said Matt could take the roof from this old porch hooked to an even older trailer up there.  Matt got tools from Bryce and set to work taking it down.

 My brother Lane just inherited a nice truck from his grandfather-in-law and he was nice enough to let us load the roof pieces in the back of it.  We are going to put the roof over our fire pit area at home - saved us hundreds of dollars - sweet.  Matt just strapped it to the roof of our van and off we went!

 Right after the fish pond fun - some of us headed to the sand dunes for some more fun.  Matt's family has the tradition to roll the colored easter eggs down tracks you dig in the sand hills.  We've gotten my family to join us in the fun of that twice in a row now.  We all had a lot of fun.

 Jayden dug a hole deeper than he was tall - it was pretty fun to watch!

 and the fun continued on our last day in Idaho being EASTER!  The kids had a great time finding all their eggs (only one pink egg wasn't accounted for), then this minion egg had a puzzle inside they had to complete and read the instructions of where to find the family basket...

 It just happened to be in a freezer in the basement - and just happened to have the movie FROZEN in it - that they've been eager - so eager - to own.  Even Jacie knows the words to Let It Go. 

 We headed home after church and got to celebrate Cameron's birthday again with Matt's side of the family - he was so happy to get another cake and even more presents - lucky kid!

 And all the kids were super surprised and excited to discover that the Hansens had hidden a bunch more Easter eggs all over the back yard!  this shot of Carly in mid-air trying to get that egg cracks me up.

 Cameron discovered that gigantic orange egg - it took him awhile to realize there were toys inside for each kid and he didn't get to keep it all because he found the egg - haha.  What a fun time.

 Other fun we had this April was having our oven poop out on us so we scored a great new one on ksl.com - the local classifieds.  Great price and an even better oven than before - score!  Just ignore that very messy kitchen all around the lovely new oven.  It honestly looks cleaner today.

 And Matt has practically finished our bathroom project - it looks SO fantastic now.  We just need to get the doors put on that corner closet and add some trim and it's finally done - yes!

 This is the number of kids I got to babysit one day - yeah, I know I'm that awesome.  ;)

 And I ended the month with a trip to Provo for WOMEN'S CONFERENCE!! 

This year it was me, Taletha, LaDawn and her great friend Fiona that got to attend.

I haven't been for a few years and I missed it. 

We learn SO much and have SO much fun.  Highly recommend it to any woman.

 Here are most of the women that have taken me up on that recommendation...heehee

I'll leave you with a few funny-isms of the twins recently.  As we drove down the road the other day, Trevor started crying that his leg hurt and he wanted a NEW ONE - haha.  We'd just gone to the bank that both twins refer to as the PIGGY BANK now - hey, if it gets you a free sucker feel free to call it whatever you like!  And I called Jacie dear the other day and she scoffed and pointed out that she, in fact, was not a real deer.  True that.  Hope you enjoyed reading about our fun April adventures - see you at the end of May!
