Our September began with the kids heading BACK TO SCHOOL!
I get to teach the twins at home for preschool and we are loving it.
Two days later...this pretty girl turned 12! She loves being in middle school and really loves being in Young Women's now. She's the best big sister and a wonderful person - she really blesses our lives.
Right after Alissa's birthday, we enjoyed a fun Labor Day Weekend. We visited two different beaches that are very close to where we live now. This first one was Sunnyside Beach. There were dead jellyfish that washed ashore and once we determined they wouldn't sting, the kids were super happy to hold them and love them and play with them! Carly's face is how I felt about them!
Our second beach was Owen Beach right by our favorite zoo. Lots of fun jumping waves, skipping rocks, climbing driftwood piles and hiking up steep hillsides - we even found a slimy little pile of baby banana slugs - ugh.
We finally got a good start on our long term food storage this month and I got that big pile of awesomeness to all fit in the girls' closet! Gotta love apartment living - requires creativity.
Gorgeous sky one morning...
And proof that we really ARE living in rainy Washington now...the twins were in heaven!
We were able to see the cool Lunar Eclipse of the big Harvest Moon! The first picture is the best my dinky little camera could get and the others are from professionals! ;)
We were also able to go to the Washington State Fair. BIG event around here - SO many people! We enjoyed a funny hypnotist show - two people in the picture were told to shove balloons up their shirts but not tell the hypnotist that they did it - pretty funny. The kids enjoyed the rides, I enjoyed the caramel apples and we got to see some brand new piglets and a giant mommy pig just days away from delivering her 11 piglets later that week - she'd be sleeping and you could watch her belly moving all around - crazy.
Check out Alissa's and Carly's faces in that roller coaster picture - my favorite!!
And to end our fun month of September, we experienced our first and last Primary Program that all 5 kids got to be a part of - I love these beautiful children of mine! :)
HAPPY FALL!!
