Moving: Part 3

And we're FINALLY moved in!!
The original plan was to move in on a Saturday afternoon - the plot twist then had us moving in on the following Wednesday afternoon.  This meant we ended up with less help available so we were mostly on our own.  However, this nice fella helped us unload at least half the truck - he just happened to be getting his mail and asked if he could help us move anything - oh man did we like that question!!  He was very kind and had great manners - if every person was like this guy then the world would be a better place!
Jacie turned out to be quite the helpful little girl.  She just kept going - Alissa was also a big help.  The middle three filled the quota I gave them then disappeared together in the many new exciting places to explore at our new home.  :)
This is my all-time favorite box.  Carly labeled it and I told her to try her best at the spelling - pretty dang good for such a big word!
Cute Cameron - that counts as 4 boxes on his quota!
Our living room by the end of the day.  Matt is WORN OUT!!  We had our new Elder's Quorum President show up right after work and he was very worn out, too.  We live by a big army/air force base so there are lots of people in fatigues around here.  The kids refer to our helper as "the army guy that helped us move in"  He was a big help for Matt.
The giant truck is officially EMPTY!!
Now we move on to figuring out what we need in the apartment - which means many trips to Lowe's and other super "fun" stores.  This is what these three think of an hour at Lowe's - haha!  I agree!
We were happy to reward them with a trip to a nearby buffet - cotton candy was the highlight!
Being married to a handyman is SO great.  The first things Matt did were just small things like...oh, add a door here...
...and install a light and ceiling fan there!  SO cool to be married to a handyman!
Our "army guy that helped us move" friend invited us to his house on base for dinner knowing how long it takes to find food and dishes when you move.  We got to meet his SIX kids that just happen to be right around our own kids' ages - sweet!  We had lots of fun with them at the park that night.  We are blessed.
Oh, one more thing Matt added - carpet to our dining area to keep their lighter carpet safe from the messes that dining areas bring.  Sweet.

Then - even with many boxes to unpack still - we had a BIRTHDAY to celebrate!  Here's our cool dragon cake.
And our adorable SIX year old Birthday Boy Cameron.  Love this kid to the moon and back.
Oh yeah - it's a fire breathing dragon!!!
Playing with Cam's new remote controlled helicopter.  He was super super sad the next day when he flew it outside and the wind got ahold of it and it disappeared - literally.  Couldn't find it anywhere.  He cried and cried.  Poor guy.  Luckily, I'd bought the same thing for Trevor's birthday in a couple weeks and Matt said it would be way too hard for Trevor to figure out how to fly it so Cameron scored a new one.  We told him we just happened to have a spare!  :)  We were sure to find something equally cool for Trevor, of course.

And to end the chaos of moving - here is a glimpse of the normality we had just before the chaos ensued - April Fools pranks.  Matt loves a good prank and this holiday is his favorite.  I got him way better than he got us this year- mine is on the left and his is on the right (the amateur job of taping the van door shut - pshaw!)
